Deep purple and almost black, with wonderful, mild flavor, lchiban adds interest to the garden as well entrees. Long and slender fruits are outstanding in stir-fries, oriental dishes and are great for grilling, or roasting to add to a vegetable platter. Attractive plants of Asian origin, lchiban yields a 10-inch fruit with a thinner skin than regular types of eggplant. This is an excellent choice for the home garden for looks and taste.
